It was the first sunny Saturday we’d had in a very long time, and a perfect day for a beach proposal! Reason number 1,845,352 why we love proposals, it’s a family trip the beach, we’re in yoga pants and sunglasses, and that is exactly what’s expected of us! We arrived in a group to fit in as normal beach goers. We scouted the beach for the area where TJ said he would be, looking for the couple on a checkered blanket and three dogs, which made them super easy to spot. We sat towards the back playing with all the new driftwood the storm had washed a shore. People had already built art structures and kids were building forts, so we just joined in, secretly one us of watching over the others shoulder the entire time.
We knew the game plan. TJ told us Jenya loved photography and she would have her camera with her. He was going to walk her to the waters edge for “a photo he wanted of the dogs.” He slowly hung a small sign around each of the dogs necks reading… Will… You… Marry… and down on one knee at the very end held, Me. With the sounds of the beach, family chatter, and waves, we couldn’t hear what was said, but Jenya immediately bent down for the kiss and threw her arms around his neck, so we knew it was a yes! A beach proposal success!
After a few moments of taking it in, TJ turned and pointed us out, and Jenya was stunned yet again. We spent a few minutes taking couples portraits, and of course some with the dogs, and then let them be. A whirl wind of excitement and lives changes in mere minutes! Congratulations TJ and Jenya! We can’t wait to hear about wedding plans!
