Unless you’re a model, being photographed probably feels a little awkward—and that’s totally normal. We do this for a living, and we still feel a little out of place when it’s our turn in front of the camera each year!
That’s one of the many reasons we’re big fans of engagement sessions. They give you a chance to get comfortable in front of our cameras before the big day. Most couples need a little time to warm up and get used to the way we guide and pose. On wedding days, timelines can be tight, and we may only have 30 minutes for portraits. When couples have already done an engagement session, we find their wedding portraits are so much more natural and relaxed.
Your engagement session also gives you the chance to showcase your personality in a laid-back setting that’s meaningful to you—whether that’s a downtown stroll, the beach at sunset, or even your own backyard (yes, pets are always welcome!). While these photos are perfect for save-the-dates, we’ve taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months in advance to just a few days before the wedding.
There’s something truly magical about capturing those quiet, joyful moments between couples madly in love—and your engagement session is the perfect way to do just that.

One day, Instagram will be a thing of the past, your phone will be upgraded (again), and those digital files might get lost in the shuffle. But a beautifully crafted album? Just think about this: if we had delivered your photos fifteen years ago, they would’ve come on a floppy disk. Today, you'd have no way to view them. Technology evolves fast—even the online galleries we deliver won’t be around forever.
That’s why we always recommend investing in a wedding album. These aren’t your parents’ wedding albums. Ours are modern, lay-flat designs with stunning print quality and a variety of timeless linen and leather covers to choose from. Whether displayed on your coffee table or tucked safely on a shelf, your album becomes a tangible heirloom—a lasting reminder of the love, joy, and moments that made your day so special.

Wedding albums are available a la carte or as part of your wedding collection.
After your gallery is delivered, we’ll guide you through selecting your favorite images and designing a custom album—a beautiful heirloom your family will treasure for generations.
Albums must be paid in full before the design process begins. Once we get started, most albums take about 4 to 6 weeks to complete, including time for revisions.
Please note: albums are non-returnable unless a printing error occurs. You're welcome to order an album at any time—before or after the wedding. If you're hoping to have your album in time for the holidays, be sure to begin your order by November 1st.

When should we schedule our engagement session?
Both! We love the feeling a film image provokes. It offers timeless images that are hard to replicate. However, when digital cameras are more suited for the task at hand, we are also able to transition seamlessly between both digital and film, to achieve the best possible photographs and ensure they will be passed on to future generations.

Once you feel we're the perfect fit for your celebration, all you have to do is email us and let us know at hello@lauraandrachel.com. Everything is done easily online. We will send you an agreement to sign and a retainer to pay. We require 50% down to reserve your date and the rest is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding.
