This Big Sur anniversary session left us breathless! Rachel and I don’t run into to many other mother daughter photography teams like us, then we met Tiffany & Mackenzie in Charleston last year, and we were immediate friends! How strange is it that Tiffany and I are the exact same age, as are our girls Rachel and Mackenzie! We began exchanging stories of how we got started, as well as the benefits that come with working with you daughter, and Tiffany mentioned her up coming anniversary.
Tiffany had always dreamed of an elaborate Big Sur anniversary session! Her big flowy gown, morganite ring, overflowing bouquet… We had heart eyes just listening to her vision! We then met up again in San Francisco earlier this year, and it was like the year in between never existed! We caught up on life stories, and began putting the final details on what ended up being the most STUNNING anniversary session ever!!!
After ten years of marriage, most couples haven’t had portraits of just themselves since their wedding. Tiffany shared with us the build up to how she met Jose and how her life changes, we immediately knew this was all in God’s timing.
As a single mom of 3, Tiffany moved from a tiny town in South Carolina to San Diego to start a new job following a difficult few years. At the time, she would have never been able to afford a move across the country with 3 children, but fate had different plans. After putting her resume on Monster.com, she was contacted by a company in southern California. A few days later, she was on a plane for an interview. Not only did she get offered the job on the spot, they paid for all her moving expenses, plus months of rent for her and her children. To this day she tells us, she still doesn’t know how it actually happened.
Coincidentally, Jose was moving from Miami during the same time. Although he was originally from the tiny town in Washington, he had been working real estate in Miami for a couple of years. They met only 10 days after Tiffany arrived in So Cal over sangria’s and salsa dance lessons.
Shortly thereafter they started dating and Jose quickly took the role of father to her children. A few months later, Tiffany lost her father. She tells us, “I have no doubt God’s timing is perfect and there was a very specific reason he led me to San Diego to find Jose.” On New Year’s Eve 2006, Jose asked Tiffany to marry him, and they were married three short months later.
Since then they now have one child together and have been living in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia. Tiffany says, “Our lives are rich because of sacrificial love, and we have been abundantly blessed. It has been a dream of mine for a number of years to come back and renew our vows on the rocky coastline of California, in the state where it all began, and next to the Pacific ocean that we both love so dearly.” Congratulations Jose and Tiffany on 10 amazing years of marriage, and here’s to many many more! We love you both!
Many thanks to this amazing creative team who brought this anniversary together…
