A Big Sur proposal love story. You have no idea how excited we are for these two! If you’re a frequent reader to our blog, you’re probably saying to yourself you’ve seen these two before, and multiple times. Back in early 2016 we partnered with Pottery Barn and Epiphany Boutique and put on a runway show. Even though Lauryn was only a friend of a bride attending, she won the raffle for a portrait session with us, and was super excited! A few months later when when we were planning our workshop, we couldn’t think of a more perfect couple to model for us, so they were back on the blog again, this time in wedding attire.

Fast forward a year and they were both graduating collage together, we snapped a few cap and gown portraits of them, but what Lauryn didn’t know was that we were already planning a her surprise proposal with Mitch! We planned a styled photo shoot and asked if they wouldn’t mind being our “models” again, and I’m pretty sure Lauryn said yes before we had completed our sentence! Let’s just say she was a wee bit excited!

We met along the coast of Big Sur, the sun was shinning, the sound of waves crashing, with flocks of pelicans flying overhead. We started with couples portraits, then captured a few solos of Lauryn facing the ocean. We had Mitch slowly inch his way way closer to her, and as she turned around, he was down on one knee! Perfection! There were tears, there were giggles, there were sequels of excitement, and that was just from Rachel and I! Okay, a little from Lauryn and Mitch too. This session ended up so perfect, How He Asked featured it as well! Congrats you two and we cannot wait to capture your 2019 wedding!
