A secluded beach, one filled with driftwood and seashells, right at sunset. We were on the beach looking like average tourists, in position and waiting for Willie and Peony’s arrival. We spotted them along the top of the staircase, leaning against the railing taking in all that the Carmel coastline had to offer. Crashing waves as the tide slowly rose, pelicans flying by in their famous v-formation, and a barking seal off in the distance. All this going on, Peony had no idea Willie was just about to propose!

They made their way down the staircase until their feet hit the sand. Walking slowly hand in hand, they made their way close to the waters edge. We could see the excitement in Willie’s face as he chose a place to stop, held her closer as they looked out towards the ocean. He turned her in his direction, and in one clean move was down on one knee with a ring box in his hand. Perfection!

After quiet moments, happy tears, and lots of hugs later, Willie pointed us out and Peony was even more surprised! We spent time with them taking couples portraits and getting to know them a little better, before leading them out around the hidden point where her second surprise awaited. A picnic set of her favorite things, included a framed photo of their puppy from home that didn’t get to join them during this trip. She was absolutely speechless! They toasted champagne and we left them cuddling watching the sunset. Talk about a dream come true! Congratulation Willie & Peony!!!
