Charleston Wedding Proposal | No hurricane could stop this proposal! Months before Davis planned on proposing, he asked us to capture the big moment. This was something he knew Averi would treasure forever and needed to make sure it was documented. Coming from Florida and not knowing exactly where he wanted this Charleston proposal to take place, we helped him plan the ideal location along a beautiful oceanfront dock that just happened to be magically deserted like it was meant to be just for them.
Two weeks before the big day Davis planned a weekend “work” trip (or so he was telling Averi so she wouldn’t get suspicious), and was coming to visit us in Charleston to discuss all the details. Little did we know hurricane Dorian had another idea. It hit Florida the hardest, and left Charleston a ghost town as everyone scrambled inland as far as they could go.
The timing couldn’t be more perfect though. A few days later Charleston was slowly coming back to life, as if a new fresh season had arrived. Everyone came together cleaning debit, trimming trees, planting flowers, and repairing buildings. Storefronts were re-opening, storm shutters were coming down, and everyone was is such a cheerful mood since the hurricane hadn’t done as much damage as was expected.
By the time Davis and Averi’s proposal day had arrived, the skies were bright blue, small white puffy clouds filled the sky, and the town of Charleston couldn’t have been more beautiful.
We watched them walking towards us in the distance. This is always when our nerves kick in! They were both wearing exactly as he had explained and walked hand-in-hand down the pier. With the beautiful Ravenel bridge in the background, Davis held Averi tight as the wind blew a crisp breeze off the water. As his arms slowly released their warm embrace, he dropped to one knee and shared the most heartfelt words that brought tears to our eyes. It was Charleston wedding proposal was absolutely perfect in every way! Congratulations you two!!!
The kindest words from the bride-to-be… “My fiancé hired Laura and Rachel to capture our proposal in Charleston, South Carolina and I’m so happy he chose them. Due to a hurricane the previous weekend, my fiancé was unable to meet this mother-daughter pair prior to the day-of, but it made no difference because their sweet, vivacious personalities made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. After he asked and I said YES, Laura and Rachel talked us through different poses during our engagement photo shoot. My head was still in the clouds and full of excitement and happiness, so I greatly appreciated the direction! A few hours later when they sent us the photos, we were still celebrating with our family and friends and were surprised at how many photos they sent! I love so many of the photos they took that I still have trouble choosing my absolute favorite. They were truly able to capture how we felt in the moment and I could not thank them enough! We loved them, the experience and the results!“
