Isle of Palms Family Portraits | COVID has changed the way we vacation, the way we celebrate, the way we see family and friends. It has changes our behavior, our wellbeing, and lets not talk about anxiety! This year summers weren’t spent at amusement parks, you didn’t dare go near an airport, and if anything, road trips became the new normal.

If we noticed anything, it was that people really missed each other. The connection with other humans, connections with anything really. With all the time we spent now at home, pets were walked more than ever before, indoor plants became the new gardens, and everyone was working on home improvements. Still, after all this, people miss their families.

This summer more than ever before, we saw extended families come out in droves, rent a huge beach house for a week that would home parents, siblings, grandchildren, and even though they were still closed up indoors, they were together, and that’s all that mattered.

With virtual school the new normal, this trend has followed into fall. We tend to spend our evenings on the beach, with families such as this, capturing maybe the only time this year they will all be together. Some of these families have never thought about taking photographs professionally when they’re all together, and every single one of them now would never go without.
