Waterfront Park Proposal | New Years day, a horse drawn carriage ride, an elaborate set up, a GOREGOUS ring, champagne, and Ring Pops. You heard right, Ring Pops! A few years ago, on Patric and Kiara’s first date on New Years day, Patric slid a ring pop on Kiara’s finger, and what a perfect moment to recreate for their proposal!
We had the privilege of working with Propose Charleston for this proposal. Normally we’re doing all the set up, rentals, and logistics, so it was wonderful (and a stress relief), to simply capture the proposal.
Patric had planned a horse drawn carriage ride throughout Charleston, showing off all its historic glory, ending at Waterfront Park where Patric had something up his sleeve. A stroll throughout the park, selfies at the famous pineapple fountain, the entire time us watching them get closer and closer. Because of the set up, and it being New Years day, everyone was out walking around so we had drew a little crowd. We worked with them so they looked like normal bystanders, next thing we knew, there they were. Kiara spotted the set up and her jaw just dropped! Taking her by the hand, Patric led her up to the top of the platform where florals letters spelled our “Marry Me”, and a chilled bottle of champagne were waiting.
Next thing we knew, he was down on one knee, everyone was still and silent, but the moment we saw her head shake yes, the crowed went wild. You will see in one of the photos, Patric’s arms shot up in the air like his favorite football team had just won the super bowl. It was perfect!
Once it was official, we popped the champagne and wandered around Waterfront Park for some portraits. After a few minutes of photos on the dock, the skies opened up and it began to pour. We had clear umbrellas ready and with a mad dash to a large tree covering, we ended as if we were in the Notebook. It doesn’t get more romantic than this Waterfront Park proposal! Congratulations Patric and Kiara!
“Laura and Rachel were so great! They are wonderful people, very personable and friendly. I was so nervous about the whole engagement as I was coming out of state to propose. I did not know the landscape or much about Charleston, South Carolina so I had no idea where to pop the question. Laura and Rachel worked first hand with Jena of Propose Charleston planning firm, to work out a custom proposal tailored to me and my now fiancé’s relationship. It could not had been more perfect! It was a perfect proposal, a perfect location, perfect photography, just a perfect day! Laura and Rachel were really professional but also fun and energetic. They made us feel like we were models and all the shots they took came out amazing! I say all that to say I am more than grateful!! 10/10 would recommend them to anyone!!” – Patric
Let us help create the proposal of her dreams! View some of our past proposals to get some ideas on what we’ve done, but skies the limit! From a Carolina sunrise on the beach, California sunset along the cliffs, golden vineyards of Napa to Carmel Valley, historic cobblestone streets of Charleston, ancient mossy oak trees of a southern plantation, to the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Together we will curate your perfect setting!
