A Rooftop Charleston Wentworth Mansion Proposal | Ian came to us with a plan, now we just needed to help bring it to life! Nicole and Ian had a long, indoor, 2020 together (as a lot of us did), and there was a much needed girls trip in Nicole’s future, or so she though.

Living in North Carolina, Charleston is a close enough get away to be a vacation and relax, but still just close enough to be only a few hours from home. Ian planned a long weekend girls get away for Nicole and her best friend, but Nicole had no idea Ian was in on it. Nicole spent a few days in Charleston, shopping, eating out, just enjoying time with her bestie. Saturday night the girls had a really nice dinner planned (so she thought), so they got all dressed up and headed out. Come to find out they were early to their reservation, someone got the time wrong (wink-wink), and they were invited to admire the amazing views of Charleston from the rooftop cupola. Guess who was waiting for them?

Nicole and her friend made their way up the iron spiral staircase of this 1865 Wentworth Mansion that exudes the glamour and grandeur of the Holy City, with Italian crystal chandeliers, hand-carved marble fireplaces, and Tiffany stained glass windows. Ian was turned away and she didn’t even recognize him all dressed up in handsome suit. We just looked like ordinary tourists viewing the city as anyone else would be. Her friend made a mad dash to the opposite side of the cupola when Ian slowly turned around. Nicole literally gasped with a “what are you doing here!?!?” moment. Then it happened.

Ian slowly pulled her in close and got down on one knee. We popped around the corner and captured this precious moment that we can’t even begin to tell you how truly lucky we feel to be a part of. Once Ian pointed us out, and her best friend gave her the tightest hug ever, we headed downstairs to capture their engagement session amongst the most gorgeous azalea garden Charleston has to offer.
